Applications open for Artistic Residency at Casa Mísia

KEF's second self-directed artistic residency programme aims to support the visual arts, including photography, illustration, engraving, drawing (including architectural), digital art and preliminary study for painting. From 26 December 2024 to 16 January 2025, the selected artist will benefit from exclusive use of Casa Mísia, located in Lisbon's historic centre, in one of the city's most vibrant areas. 

 

Entrance of the building where residents are accommodated

Location

At Casa Mísia, a charming apartment of approximately 140 square metres in a historic 18th-century building, the resident will have total freedom to use the time according to their own pace. They will also have access to Mísia's personal library, with works in various fields of knowledge. The collection is an invitation to research and also to immersion in the cultural universe of one of the greatest voices in Portuguese music.

Conditions

The Artistic Residency is open to all creators, Portuguese or foreign, whether or not they reside in Portugal.

The use of the space is entirely covered by the programme. All other costs (food, transport, materials, etc.) will be the sole responsibility of the resident artist.

The resident must provide personal accident insurance valid for the residency period, among other conditions established in a contract to be signed by both parties.

The programme includes the possibility of a presentation of the work developed during the residency to the local community. If it is also of interest, the resident may hold a workshop for a minimum group of participants, according to the terms established by KEF. 

Applications

Applications must be submitted by 10 December 2024.

Only applications with the electronic form completed (please ignore the space for the budget) in Portuguese or English, and presentation via email, containing the candidate's CV, proposal letter, detailed project description and development timeline, will be evaluated. Proposals will be evaluated by the KEF team, who will communicate the result by 15 December.
