Call for Artistic Residency in Lisbon

KEF invites artists to apply for a two-week Artistic Residency in Lisbon.

From 30 September to 14 October 2024, our first Residency will host those dedicated to writing. Projects in musical composition, literary creation, essays, theatre or film will be considered. While we do not wish to direct the work, the relationship with the Portuguese territory, whether urban or rural, will not be a selection criterion, but it will carry weight in the evaluation of the proposals.

Location
Verride Palácio Santa Catarina, in an area defined in the 16th century and which today forms part of the Misericórdia parish. The KEF studio is located next to a stunning viewpoint, 5 to 15 minutes away from the main tourist attractions in the city's central area.

Conditions
The Artistic Residency is open to all creators, Portuguese or foreign, whether or not they reside in Portugal.

The use of the space is entirely covered by the programme. All other costs (food, transport, materials, etc.) will be the sole responsibility of the resident artist.

The resident is required to have personal accident insurance.

We invite artists to present their work to the local community, in a format to be agreed upon. The Residency also offers the possibility for the resident to conduct a workshop for a minimum group of interested parties, in accordance with the terms established by KEF.

Applications
Applications can be submitted until 5 September 2024.

Only applications with the electronic form completed (please ignore the space for the budget) in Portuguese or English, and presentation via email, containing the candidate's CV, proposal letter, detailed project description, development timeline and probability of publication or presentation of the work, will be evaluated. Proposals will be evaluated by the KEF team, who will communicate the result by 15 September.
